a group of people that contribute to art by mail projects in many forms. (primarily by slow mail)

Sometimes projects are collaborative and sometimes it’s trade based but hopefully always we will converse about the work and ideas for future projects. I would like this to be successful for a couple reasons. The first being that I think this sort of thing is a good tool to keep people working, even if you don't have trouble staying inspired, or with self discipline, this is still a good way to just do something and see it go somewhere where someone else besides my boyfriend, cat and whoever comes over to my house can appreciate.

Art by mail is special in it’s own right, but to keep a group of people working successfully for some time would produce a wonderful array of work very suitable for a showing and a book. I know a number of us share work via the internet, but that’s just not the same thing as holding it in your hand. Another thing that is important to me about this project is that everyone that participates gets work sent to them. Everyone gets something.

One thing I would like to stress is that we all work on these projects, even if we don’t have time to physically produce work, it is still helpful to converse about the projects in this forum. I also just don’t think it’s fair to the people that are sharing their ideas openly that the rest stay silent.

I understand that there are some people that don’t readily have access to the internet, or whom choose to be in this project without participating in the tribe- this is my offer to you- I will print out and mail the descriptions of the posted projects as they come up- and you can choose whether you want to participate or not- BUT if you refuse 3 projects in a row I will assume that you will not continue participation and I will discontinue sending those out until further notice from you.

If you send me your work you automatically grant me permission to photograph, scan, post in this tribe album, and show ( when applicable) that work. It is understood that artwork will not be returned.
